Senior dogs have more healthcare requirements than younger dogs. Once your dog reaches their senior years, we recommend more regular health checks to ensure your dog is coping OK.
At Treaty Vets we have an After 8 Club for dogs over the age of 8 years, which we recommend your dog attends every 6 months. This gives us the opportunity to assess your dog’s mobility, dental care, eye and ear health and to check their liver and kidney function by running a simple blood test in our in house laboratory.
The After 8 Club has been very successful in picking up the early stages of disease which elderly dogs can develop, leading to a longer and improved quality of life for older dogs.
